One the things that initially confused me was how many Maquis were on Chakoay's ship. His Liberty/Geronimo/Val Jean (depends who you ask) is barely modified from its appearance in TNG as a two seater fighter to something with a slightly larger cockpit. And we never venture beyond the cockpit so it really doesn't give the impression that it's much bigger than the TNG counterpart.

'When you sent me on this mission, I thought that I could do it. Even though it meant helping Cardassians, even though it meant betraying people who are fighting against them.
Now I'm not sure where I stand.' - ro [to picard]

Episode 140: Rebel Rebel
TNG: "Emergence" and "Preemptive Strike"
Everyone is going against the grain this week in TNG! First up, the ship disobeys all commands to foster new life in the absolutely rubbish "Emergence". After that, Picard stupidly decides Ro should infiltrate the Marquis because there's no way she'll end up deciding to actually join them in "Preemptive Strike".
Also this week: too much Shakespeare, Discovery disco, and "The Rainbow Connection".
Timestamps: Emergence: 2:28; Preemptive Strike: 37:58

The time has come, and it is now upon us.
First, take note: The Korean War never officially ended with a peace treaty. Instead, it concluded with an armistice agreement signed on July 27, 1953. This agreement was meant to cease hostilities and establish the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), but it did not officially end the war. Thus, technically, North and South Korea are still in a state of war.
For the last 70 years, North Korea has engaged in a dangerous game of brinkmanship, persistently attempting to develop weapons of mass destruction with the potential for a nuclear strike. North Korea’s development of short, medium, and long-range missiles, including hypersonic and orbital capabilities, is more than mere posturing. It represents a tangible threat that diplomacy has yet to neutralize.
While our missile defense systems are highly sophisticated and likely sufficient to defend us, the small chance of a North Korean strike breaking through cannot be ignored. Therefore, in the face of the apparent futility of diplomatic efforts, a tactical nuclear strike on Pyongyang may be considered. This action would aim to end the reign of Kim Jong Un, sending a decisive message akin to that sent to Japan 80 years ago.
However, this proposal raises profound ethical and moral questions. The loss of innocent lives, the potential for widespread devastation, and the international repercussions must be carefully weighed. Critics might argue that such an action could escalate into a broader conflict or invite severe retaliation.
If, despite these concerns, a strike is deemed necessary, the objective would be to eliminate the immediate threat and pave the way for a long-overdue peace treaty. Post-strike, North Korea could potentially benefit from the removal of its rogue government. With international aid and investment, particularly from South Korea, Japan, and the United States, North Korea’s infrastructure could be rebuilt, and its economy revitalized.
While the vision of a thriving, peaceful North Korea is optimistic, history has shown that transformation is possible under the right conditions. However, achieving such an outcome requires careful planning, international cooperation, and a commitment to supporting the North Korean people through a challenging transition.
In conclusion, while the threat posed by North Korea is undeniable, the path to peace must be navigated with caution, ethical consideration, a clear vision for the future, and decisive action. Only then can we hope to achieve lasting stability in the region.

So let me just get this straight. For the last year, I have seen the same argument again and again and again. "Hamas started the war." "Palestine shouldn't have started a fight they couldn't finish." "Israel has full right to defend itself." That's it. Cut and dry. Palestine attacked first and so they deserve to be attacked back.
So tell me why all the things I'm seeing now are like "Iran sends barrage of missiles in deadly attack", "Iran declares war with retaliatory missile strike", "Praying for Israel as tensions rise", "Israel Prime Minister speaks out after Iran missile strike".
Like which the fuck is it?? I woke up this morning to articles like "Iran declares war after Israel fires on nuclear site" but now that Iran has fired back it's somehow back to "both sides" or Israel being an innocent victim? Like come on how much clearer can it get. Israel and its allies (cough US cough) are direct perpetrators of horrific war.
